Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe is known to many as "Africa's Paradise."
Zimbabwe is unique. Sefofane Airlines, an excellent charter
company, now operates in Zimbabwe. Wilderness Safaris now manages
excellent camps in Zimbabwe, making it very comparable to
Botswana. Often, the two safari destinations are combines with
Victoria Falls, the gateway to both destinations.
As a destination on its own, Zimbabwe offers:
- Victoria Falls - Natural Wonder of the
world
- Safari Parks
- Hwange National Park
which offers huge populations of elephant, buffalo and antelope.
- Matusadona National Park
situated on the southern shores of Lake Kariba is a beautiful park
and offers large populations of game but includes Rhino!
- Mana Pools is a World
Heritage Sight situated along the north eastern banks of The Zambezi
River.
- Matopos National Park -
Magnificent Granite Rocks, Bushmen Paintings, Cecil John Rhodes
Grave site, Rhino tracking and much more. Our favorite
accommodations here are Amalinda Camp and Big Cave Camp.
- Great Zimbabwe Ruins -
One of the most famous ruins in the world, located in Southern
Zimbabwe near Masvingo. We recommend staying at the Lodge of
the Ancient City.
- Eastern Highlands - Comparable in scenery to
Scotland with magnificent mountains, waterfalls, pine forests and trout
filled lakes. We recommend staying at Troutback Inn.
Camps
While we use a variety of camps and locations, our preferred supplier
is Wilderness Safaris for camps and lodges. Wilderness Safaris is
an African adventure travel company committed to providing highly
memorable, safe, educational and fun safaris. They achieve this
goal by taking their guests back in time to remote corners of Africa
where they have built small, luxurious camps with plunge pools that
offer an unspoiled wildlife experience. All Wilderness Safari
camps offer twice daily game viewing activities - early morning and late
afternoon/evening.

by camp)

Victoria Falls
Hotels - Closest to
Falls - Zimbabwe side
Please note:
There
are a variety of beautiful, all-inclusive lodges, such as Matetsi Lodge
and Sekuti's
Drift that are situated away from the hustle-bustle of Victoria Falls
and offer game viewing.
Tongabezi - On
the Zambian side of the Zambezi

- Summers in Zimbabwe are mild. Temperatures average in the
mid 70's and much colder in the morning and evening.
- Summer highs reach the upper 80's and low 90's.

There really isn't a bad time to visit Zimbabwe. The best time is
May - September. Game viewing is excellent during this time of
year. Nature is at its fullest splendor.
